About this product
Description
Proper pH control is essential or optimum performance of chlorine and bromine sanitizers. It is also important for swimmer comfort, protecting pool equipment and surfaces, and maintaining optimum water quality. In general, the pH of pool water should be maintained between 7.2 to 7.8. The optimum pH range may vary slightly for certain sanitizers. Consult the water balance section of the sanitizer product label you use for the optimum pH range for that product. This product lowers the pH of swimming pool water. It also lowers the total alkalinity of swimming pool water.

Specifications
When the pH is above 7.8 as determined by use of a suitable test kit or strips, distribute 16 ounces (1 pound) of GLB pH Down for every 10,000 gallons of pool water into the deepest part of the pool with the pump running.
Brush the area to disperse any undissolved particles.
Allow the water to circulate for 6 - 8 hours then retest the pH. Repeat as needed until the pH is in range. Do not lower the pH below 7.2.
TO LOWER TOTAL ALKALINITY
Use a suitable test kit or strips to test the total alkalinity of your pool water. If the total alkalinity is above the recommended range for your sanitizer product, add 2 Ibs of GLB pH Down for every 10,000 gallons of pool water to lower the total alkalinity by 10 pm. Add this product in one spot in the deepest part of the pool. Do not apply near walls or metal fixtures. Keep the water circulating for at least 6 - 8 hours to distribute the product.
Repeat each day until the desired total alkalinity level is reached. Retest pH to ensure it is in the recommended range.
